I would first find out the places in your area with vaacncy some places have waiting list then have a meeting with the owners /mangers of the places ,research online , maybe even find some people who have family members in one of these homes and ask about it’s reputation

Yes, Eulalia, this is a good way to go. It is unfortunate however, that many people need nursing care in a crisis situation and don’t have many options in that situation. They are forced to use a facility that is 1) within a reasonable drive from family 2) has an available bed. I recently had a family that needed a specialized facility and the nearest one was a 4 hour drive away. It was very difficult for the son because he was making the round trip every weekend.
